Your headshot session is designed to give you a wide variety of shots for you to use for your personal brand. Sessions can range from a quick 15 minute shoot to around an hour depending on how many looks you’d photographed. I recommend you bring multiple changes of clothing so you have a variety of looks to try. I like to get a minimum of three different looks in a session for you to choose from. It’s better to bring more than you think you need so we can try different things out!

Selecting and Purchasing Images

Throughout the session, you’ll be able to preview your images and we’ll collaborate on expression, clothing, and posing to ensure you are happy with the results. After the session, you’ll receive a link to an online proofing gallery where you can select images to purchase. Purchased images include unlimited usage rights and full retouching and are sent in 3-5 business days.

Clothing

I recommend you bring a range of options for clothing. Bring what best represents you and your personal brand and make sure it is something you enjoy wearing and are comfortable in. A range of different cuts, colors, and necklines is recommended. For actors, I recommend doing at least one look in a simple black or dark color solid shirt. Layering items can also work really well too. Avoid tops with puffy sleeves as they tend to not work as well in camera. I suggest you keep jewelry to a minimum as a general guideline.

Hair & Makeup

For hair and makeup, think about how you want to present yourself on your best day. If you want to do multiple makeup looks, we’ll start with shooting the lighter, natural makeup and build up from there. Any skin issues or blemishes will be handled in retouching, so no worries about that.

For men, if you’d like to be shot with facial hair and clean shaven, we can start with facial hair and you can shave partway through the session.
